Once will not hurt: an article in American spoken!

I try not to complicate your life by showing you articles in English because there are enough now, moreover, by people who know everything about nothing.
However, however, it is interesting for the video, not the text written for those people, I do not even know them is to say! This lady in the video that I know very well, gives much information about the breed as it has done much research about it. She has two Barbets (one of which comes from my kennel, which will be a year next week already). I would have you transcribe.

There is talk of an explosion of births Barbets of the USA (and Canada, obviously) and I think that soon with all these births, we French, will be forced to cross the Atlantic to bring home the Barbet.

It remains pure Barbets 4: Ulysses, Ursus and 2 females too old to play and they all have offspring, fortunately. After this re-compositions are more or less happy. We all have them!
It's rare breed obligé.Une needs new blood to survive. Some have focused on the Spanish water dog, others have concentrated the poodle and a tiny minority have a little Irish. All have the Portuguese Water Dog (3 since the 50s).

If it were that easy? The Barbet is a breed extremely rare and it is a fact. This is not because strangers have decided to take it "in hand" that race will be perpetuated. Quite the opposite.

Perpetuate the race and make up the numbers are not exactly the same thing.
For the survival of a breed requires different lines and you must use a maximum of confirmed males and not the most popular all-going as is the case for a great time.

The custom among the Barbet is to promote only low levels of inbreeding, to rely solely on pedigrees that are far from being fair, and using mostly the champions, and males as young as possible. Exactly the opposite of what should be done.

It seems you no sense? I am wondering what is.

We just want to work on type of race OLD Barbet, ie a dog the size of a spaniel and not performance type curly poodle, and it puts us in the minority. And you know what happens when one is minority?

There you will have everything included.

Gloria hair, Finland

Gloria made a canine expo this time in Tampere, and has had an "excellent". it will be one year. Bravo for the beautiful and good work.
Several of us around the world to refuse to make a bichon Barbet, leaves to take slaps in expo.Le "Old Barbet" is not a poodle and he has long hair, not curly. The long hair does not in any case mean "completely matted, or dirty".
Proof. As for us humans, try to look natural works, right?

Thelma, the little young girl almost 10 years!

In terms of wanting a Barbet hunting can be difficult because what John Castaing owes as much today there are 30, 40,50 or more years. Thelma comes from a line of dogs who have the instinct of the report. Some have worked in field trials in Germany and some in France. No need for him to draw a picture! Thelma is the daughter of Poppenspaler's Vincacao and Edam, below, too.

Edam, this hero and his duck!

Edam, whose real name Ewetoo to serve the chapel of Alexander was visiting yesterday with his family from Alsace and we have, by mutual agreement spontaneous, decided to try the duck. Drive everyone! and go to the water towards the Saone with Thelma ... (because it is well established and can do in case he needed help or show) and Froguette who snuck into the car anyway and I could not refuse because she knew what was happening ...

2, 3 times with apportable, he understood and presto! ze duck ...

All that to say that instinct, there is or there is not, but so far so good (so far a lot of success with the Barbets of my house!)
We hope our Edam will be able this year to pass the TAN Châtel Guyon.Les information program of the day are not readily available. It is much easier to report than duck club information! ... Finally we'll get there though, it was more difficult!

A ghost: Be Good!

Be Good was born from my first litter in 2006 by Thelma. He left behind at Troyes in someone who ultimately did not have time to deal with it. It is re-party without my knowing it at a lovely young woman in Germany who had hastened to contact me to tell me how happy she was to have it. He has 6 years now and it's a shame because it's a beautiful dog that is brown what are my other black. It is not confirmed, no radio hip ... what? Nothing.

He has two brothers in Sweden, one in the north that has never reproduced and one in Stockholm, who has finally reproduced (recently) ... after also changed owner (they had "absolutely" a Barbet .. and were transferred USA and ciao dog.) This time with a ban to tell me where was the dog, which meanwhile has been gobbled up by two Pit-Bulls and escaped.
Another is 30 mins from here that I try to see for several years in a convict ... must be done, right? It was a dog for his kids. hmm .... and I even went to see them at home ... I found the owner and on Facebook by typing its name by accident on Google, I found the headlines in his name.

One in Finland which is in good hands ... and my Guyguy Winners at the National Specialty, the same day.

One wonders finally how to sell puppies for normal people who want to help the survival of the breed, not shave them and respect the race, and that will not sue you because you refuse to sell them a puppy or who still deeply depressed, insult you on Facebook, as it happened and others who want a puppy to mix and make Labradoodles or cool blood poodle. We avoid selling in some countries because they want to make money on the dog and care less of race and found the seam to make them reproduce excessively, castrate them and place them in two years.

One litter a year, for me it is more than enough because the Old Barbet is much rarer than other dogs rare and we should not let anyone get one.

The Barbet modern breeds more and more to the right and left, has nothing to do with the Old Barbet. And we need our beautiful French race survive and that it is not transformed by unscrupulous breeders looking to make a name on his back.
A rare breed is not excessive litter everywhere. Beware of imposters.

Fortunately it is still possible to find nice people, honest will keep in touch, giving them new and, no less, save the breed from extinction.
