Rumour has it that Mrs Françoise Loiseau has passed on. She represented the Barbet for several years at the club and was a close friend of Mrs R Rault who protected her* . I will certainly be one of the first to thank her for being the first to talk about “home-made pedigrees” and reveal quite a bit of information about the pre- 2000 period of the club…she knew a lot about what went on….and I heard more than I can ever have imagined. She was my inspiration to investigate the breed and its history.
She gave me my lovely Thelma Lou against a case of wine and was never into making money on the breed. That was never her objective.
When I used to visit her while her companion Alain, was alive, we had a great time together and she told me a lot about the breed, the people and who was who.I learned a lot from her, until she turned on me for very personal reasons. I did visit her 2 years ago, and I was happy to see her. I think she was also pleased I stopped by.
The picture below is from 2002 and my Thelma Lou is one of those pups.
I hope she has a better life where she is now, because she did not have the happiest life here on earth.
When she was finally allowed to resign, ( she was not allowed to for political reasons*) she basically became a recluse and never wanted to hear about the breed again. That happens to many who have suffered through a particular regime.
The French breed club, as a tribute to her, did not wait long to show (medical homemade) “proof” about how the CNRS AND Finland do not know their job when one person alone resolved the issue of epi in the breed Barbet sitting in her kitchen in 2009 with a lengthy report published early 2010…the objective at the time, because I was there and still am, was to bring down dogs and breeders…and then the rumours started, by several sitting around that table in 2009…about how you should not touch this or this dog, and stay away from this or this breeder, from the mouth of our great showdog winner.. because he or she was sick ( dog and owner, of course) et blablabla, which still goes on to this date because perpetrated by several who attended the 2009 “meeting”( link below) ..well it’s interesting so many years later to wonder…
I had asked Mr Hermans about the health of “his” line and he said there were NO HEALTH PROBLEMS anywhere, and I bet he would say it today…and then, he proceeded to accuse Mrs Loiseau of having nothing BUT sick dogs…but then…they have the same ancestors as all the others…?!Don’t they? And if you look at the names of the countries where the litters were born, there’s obviously one country, a hop skip and a jump away from me, where there is NO epilepsy..humhum and the main breeder is even thanking Mrs Loiseau for what she did..then why go to Bern, then?
Another slice of history is unveiled, since the very competent breed club now requires anti epi certificates for ALL dogs that reproduce here in France…and ceci explique cela…Well I have them for my dogs…and Bijou and Booly Wooly..tada.Now, if you look at some pedigrees of dogs that have never reproduced a hop skip and a jump away…which I did wonder a few weeks ago when looking at Ungaro progeny…humhum.
Another bit of Barbet history with another stone laid to rest.We all know yhat history started with the Canailles de Verbaux and many of us have done our best to stay away from them…so rumours or proof? Decide for yourself.
I think showing pedigrees as a tribute to what she contributed to the breed is a pretty interesting tribute…as Mrs Loiseau did work against the club for many years until they got her back in on the committee so they could control her…sounds familiar and that is why I thought to myself..never in a million years will I ever touch that deal, not even with a 10-foot pole.
Thank you Philippe Seguela for writing in a letter that the club WAS offering me a seat on the committee..
Françoise did not always have a nice life. I am sure of that. Now, she is happy where she is.
Bless you Françoise…
Your legacy will live on!
*not the topic of this day, but it will all fall into place as to why she was not allowed to resign…
I had always wanted to go to see this statue. I was amazed at the city…and of course, thought about some facts:when you think about how it was so totally destroyed during Worldwar II and rebuilt stone by stone..you kind of wonder if everyone takes it for granted?
Pictures always speak louder than words.

Right: Mom, Grandmother, and soon to be great -grandmother Coccolina. Below:
Lovely duette of mother on the right and daughter on the left. Georgia de la serve de la chapelle d’Alexandre and Ila…with a wonderful announcement coming up:
El Paradiso or Elpa for his friends came to visit us… He is the son of Chesara and Vincacao who had gone to a guide school for the blind, but was afriad of firecrackers so he was placed with the family he has. Very Lucky guy he is!We had a very nice time and my dogs welcomed him “home” as one does.
I rarely show (or share) pictures of dogs not connected to my line anymore, because I do not keep up.
This particular one is to me, a very nice representation of what the breed should look like.
Champion -Quaciëndas Ruffe Ciscarno “Ricard” is his name.
…and this is his mom…Cisca!
Hermes is 3 years old
A couple of days ago, on our favorite social media where things get out of hand faster than a speeding bullet …I came across a very strange plea for help which sounded most bizarre to me, but apparently not to many others, especially the several hundred who rushed to share it. There was no rhyme or reason to the text, but what was clear was the information about this “woman”.
There was this Barbet that was going to be euthanized because the owner was crazy. What it boiled down to, using sensationalism as one does, and using victims as floormats to wipe their feet on and promote self as one does or at least this one always has to do as much damage to a person and their reputation, as proved in the past.
Believe it or not, The person’ s email was even there next to where it said she was a nasty person and that she was blind…
It does take years of training and the right genes that run in the family when one is surrounded by well trained nasty jealous perverts. Seeing the source…
….I went to the horse’s mouth, meaning the owner, and asked. We went back and forth, I asked questions and got answers and asked for clarification and got it. Then, I was finally able to understand it all.
Sooooooooooo, I said I would help her clear things up.
It’s with some background information that I will start about Hermes who is NOT a guide dog for the blind! He was refused in selection of guide dogs. He does not work for me, I had just taken him because I had fallen in like with him. He is for me a dear part of my daily life. Hermes is such a kind dog but he isn’t fortunate to have been born with good and stable genes. Along with caring people who support me and know the situation also are willing to help me find a good place for my Hermes. I must be 200% sure the place we’ll find is the best there is.
I will be getting a new guide dog in 2017. Why?
My first blind guide dog Darius was trained with Henriette Bos for 1 year in 2004*. I started the Darius Project for the center. We have known each other since that time. I know she is the best place for a pup to train to become adult and be Barbet Sorab was born on Octobre 16th at Marga John’s. He will be trained to become My guide dog.
At this moment he’s staying with Henriette Bos who will teach him the basic commands and will socialize him with public transport, etc. Afterwards he will go to the center where he will learn his job as guide dog. When this period is finished I will go to the center to train with Sorab. Then he will go home with me and we will spend many years together and live happily ever after….
I look forward to that day!
Since my first Barbet Darius, I just want those kind and soft dogs around me. They are my reason to live. They are so affectionate and sensible. Those who attack my dogs attack me … so, please stop these childish ways of treating people you do not even know!
Greetings, Ann Overath
* Many of you will remember the “Projet Darius” in 2004. There was a video on the net about it.
If you want to see the info yourself first hand, from one of the avatar has-been sites of the past, scandalously copied and pasted; to treat people like that is an obvious intelligence inability and lack of discernment:
I have been training Froguette for hunting for 2+ years now and you have seen a lot of pictures here on this site, but never oh never has it ever been without respecting the game and the process of the activity along with the rules. I have never seen a hunter treat any animal the way is pictured in those photographs.
Just a BIG joke. BICPs I have attended, nothing to do with the barbet club, are run according to strict rules and professional behaviour and organization.
I have just seen some pictures on a social network french club breed page that are absolutely appaling and disgraceful for a breed club to publish. Totally shocking!!!!!!!!!!! to promote the Barbet as an uneducated duck killer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is NOT what happens at any BCE or BICP and gives a very retarded image of hunting and of course how the Barbet works. Disgraceful and typical of the amateurish running of the breed.
