The world stops..

GuyGuy has been sick for a while now and recovery is slow( gallstone). The entire world stops when I have a sick dog, which luckily does not happen often. He’s eating a bit, emmenthal, homemade cookies, poule au pot… Taking walks so he gets a bit hungr-ier..Ageing dogs and their issues..but, it’s just like us and we love them dearly. He knows it and is also taking a bit advantage of it…

A nose in a million: will detect anything…

I saw Froggy’s nose go up…and off he went. I am always so amazed at how good their noses are. That’s genetic, is it? So he brought it out of the field, I sad “lache”(let go) and Vennie came along to see what the fuss was about..They do what they were destined for.HUNTING…

A lot going on…with GuyGuy’s scanner…

My dear GuyGuy started vomiting well over a month ago. Since his is extremely rarely ill, I knew something was wrong immediately.Vet says liver inflammation common in older dogs..I thought cancer..so one month of medicine and back for second blood test and everything was back in the red.
Plan B: scanner. He has a gallstone. We are working on neutralizing it...His temeprature was down down down  to 37°4 and I have been taking temperature in dogs recently, quite a bit. Today he is finally up to 37.8° so we are coming closer to the 38° "normal" for a dog.He was supposed to mate with Iabada and was too weak (I thought it was old age and would rather have him alive than kill him) so Froggy was happy to step in and whambam, one mating (as usual) and he was done. So, I am disappointed with what did not happen and happy he is better..and eating and asking for food, which is nice.

He has 2 brothers who have died already, and ...so.Anyway..he may never mate again, but that's life along with a lot of others "things" that happen in the Barbet world.

On a happier note, he will be 11 soon..I am ever so proud of him.

Shaved stomach for scanner

He’s getting better and asking for his walkies..
