In the fabulous video you will recognize alot of Barbet MODERNE “types”. Why are they so similar? Because the Barbet Moderne was created in the late 1980’s, by crossing Poodles and adding a bit of this and that. Wonder no more.

The Barbet Moderne has built its fame on a myth or 2( and a few lies); one of them being that the Griffon Barbet was extinct at the end of the 19th century…well, surprise surprise. This is one at a dog show in the Netherlands in 1910. I do not generally talk history here, but from time to time, it’s good to refocus on facts.
