Sisters meeting up at almost 13 years of age !

Coccolina recently met up with her sister in the south of France. Short visit, but we enjoyed it. “Behind” Arkann ( brown) is her master and then of course, we think of her mistress who passed on a few years ago. People we/you meet are often through our passion of dogs and it is ever so important to keep up relations with dogs and their people. You never know when it’s too late..and then?

Arkann was fit as a whistle like her sister..You can definitely recognize a “type” here..

Cherchez l’errrrrrreur..

With more and more designer breeds around and people wanting “one”, for xyz reasons, it is becoming very difficult for the Vieux Barbet to survive, since  many newer breeders are not particularly interested in the breed’s history and would much rather “start from here on”. However they do love to mention it is a very old French breed…but skip over the important information…and selection to type.

Now EVEN the Australian Labradoodle people are showing lineage….

Best from Switzerland: Ela Samba

Could not resist sharing this beautiful picture of Ela Samba de la serve de la chapelle d’Alexandre, now almost 8 years old..She has had a wonderful career and done very well for our breed’s survival.

Fasila Chanter…and 7 years later: Nancy Sinatra. Vieux Barbets par excellence!

Fasila Chanter, aka TiliTili at age 7. A very very beautiful girl, and of very homogenous type with her sister, Fanny, below and her niece, right.

Nancy Sinatra de la serve de la chapelle d’Alexandre 2017. ( Deetha Déjà Vue is behind her).

Fanny Forigoler

Fasila Chanter.

Fasila and Fanny’s parents are Booly Wooly        ( GuyGuy) de la serve de la chapelle d’Alexandre and Ermengarda                       ( Coccolina).

Compay’s last litter before he came home.

Compay is now home after being away for 3.5 years ( working for the breed).

His last litter was born a few days ago, and you can see the white markings he is famous for, but in the sand color. Love it!

Compay II, a couple of weeks old in 2007.

Never seen before in Barbet world: 5 generations under one roof

5 generations under one roof!

A feat no one, not even a real  breeder, in the Barbet world has ever accomplished.

To this day: to show a line and its evolution  over 5 generations . I did it. A lot of sacrifices..But I am so happy. 13 years to 5 months. All homogeneous and healthy!

I have worked very very hard over the last 15 years to get to where I wanted to be.

A particular type of Barbet, the historical Griffon type, as in Rose, 1887.

As the Vieux Barbet should be, as portrayed below. These are all historical references. Le Barbet n’est pas un Caniche.
